نابينا و بينا يكسان نيستند; همچنين كسانى كه ايمان آورده، و اعمال صالح انجام دادهاند با بدكاران يكسان نخواهند بود; اما كمتر متذكر مىشويد

| 40:59 | Most certainly, the Hour (Day of Judgment) is coming, no doubt about it, but most people do not believe. |
روز قيامت به يقين آمدنى است، و شكى در آن نيست; ولى اكثر مردم ايمان نمى آورند
|

| 40:60 | Your Lord says, 'Call on Me, and I will respond to you. Surely, those who are too arrogant to worship Me will enter Hell - in humiliation.' |
پروردگار شما گفته است: مرا بخوانيد تا (دعاى) شما را بپذيرم ! كسانى كه از عبادت من تكبر مىورزند به زودى با ذلت وارد دوزخ مىشوند

| 40:61 | God is the One who designed the night so you can rest in it, and the day lighted. God bestows many blessings upon the people, but most people are not thankful. |
خداوند كسى است كه شب را براى شما آفريد تا در آن بياساييد، و روز را روشنىبخش قرار داد; خداوند نسبت به مردم صاحب فضل و كرم است; ولى بيشتر مردم شكرگزارى نمىكنند

| 40:62 | Such is God your Lord, the Creator of all things. There is no god except He. How could you deviate (turned away)? |
اینست خداوند، پروردگار شما كه آفريننده همه چيز است; هيچ معبودى جز او نيست; با اين حال چگونه منحرف مىشويد؟

| 40:63 | Thus were turned away those who denied God's revelations. |
اينچنين كسانى كه آيات خدا را انكار مىكردند (از راه راست) منحرف مىشوند
|

| 40:64 | God is the One who rendered the earth habitable for you, and the sky a formidable structure, and He designed you, and designed you well. He is the One who provides you with good provisions. Such is God your Lord; Then blessed be God, Lord of the worlds. |
خداوند هموست که زمين را براى شما جايگاه امن و آرامش قرار داد و آسمان را بر پاداشت; و شما را صورتگرى كرد، و صورتتان را نيكو آفريد و از چيزهايى پاكيزه به شما روزى داد; اين است خداوند پروردگار شما ! چه پربركت است خداوندى كه پروردگار عالميان است

| 40:65 | He is the Ever-Living; there is no god except He. You shall worship Him alone, devoting your religion absolutely to Him alone. Praise be to God, Lord of the worlds. |
زنده (واقعى) اوست; معبودى جز او نيست; پس او را بخوانيد در حالى كه دين خود را براى او خالص كردهايد ! ستايش مخصوص خداوندى است كه پروردگار جهانيان است

| 40:66 | Say, 'I am forbidden to worship the idols you invoke beside God, when the clear revelations came to me from my Lord. I was commanded to submit to the Lord of the worlds.' |
بگو: من نهى شدهام از اينكه معبودهايى را كه شما غير از خدا مىخوانيد بپرستم، چون دلايل روشن از جانب پروردگارم براى من آمده است; و مامورم كه تنها در برابر پروردگار عالميان تسليم باشم

| 40:67 | He is the One who created you from dust, and subsequently from a tiny drop, then from a hanging clot (embryo), then He brings you out as a child, then He lets you reach maturity, then you become old - some of you die earlier. You attain a predetermined age, in order that you may learn wisdom. |
» 67 او كسى است كه شما را از خاك آفريد، سپس از نطفه، سپس از علقه (خون بسته شده)، سپس شما را بصورت طفلى (از شكم مادر) بيرون مىفرستد، بعد به مرحله كمال قوت خود مىرسيد، و بعد از آن پير مىشويد , گروهى از شما پيش از رسيدن به اين مراحل مىميرند , تا به اجلی که معین شدهبرسيد ; و شايد اندیشه كنيد

| 40:68 | He is the One Who gives life and brings death, when He decides upon an affair, He says to it, 'Be', and it is. |
او كسى است كه زنده مىكند و مىميراند; و هنگامى كه كارى را مقرر كند، تنها به آن مىگويد: موجود باش ! بىدرنگ موجود میشود

| 40:69 | Have you noted those who argue against God's proofs, and how they have deviated (turned away)? |
آيا نديدى كسانى را كه در آيات خدا مجادله مىكنند، چگونه از راه حق منحرف مى شوند؟
|

| 40:70 | They are the ones who rejecteded the scripture, and the messages we sent to our messengers. but they shall soon come to know. |
همان كسانى كه كتاب (آسمانى) و آنچه رسولان خود را بدان فرستادهايم تكذيب كردند; اما بزودى (نتيجه كار خود را) مىدانند

| 40:71 | The shackles will be around their necks, and the chains will be used to drag them. |
در آن هنگام كه غل و زنجيرها بر گردن آنان قرار گرفته و آنها را مىكشند
|

|
| 40:72 | In the boiling fetid fluid: then in the Fire shall they be burned. |
و در آب جوشان وارد مىكنند; سپس در آتش دوزخ افروخته مىشوند
|

| 40:73 | They will be asked, 'Where are the idols you used to worship, |
سپس به آنها گفته مىشود: كجايند آنچه را همتاى خدا قرار مىداديد
|

| 40:74 | 'beside GOD?' They will say, 'They have abandoned us. In fact, when we worshiped them, we were worshiping nothing.' Thus does GOD send the disbelievers astray. |
همان معبودهايى را كه جز خدا پرستش مىكرديد؟ ! آنها مىگويند: همه از نظر ما پنهان و گم شدند; بلكه ما اصلا پيش از اين چيزى را پرستش نمىكرديم ! اين گونه خداوند كافران را گمراه مىسازد

| 40:75 | That is because you exulted in the land unjustly and because you behaved insolently. |
این بخاطر آن است كه بناحق در زمين شادى مىكرديد و از روى غرور و مستى به خوشحالى مىپرداختید
|

| 40:76 | Enter the gates of Gehenna, wherein you abide forever. What a miserable destiny for the arrogant ones. |
از درهاى جهنم وارد شويد و جاودانه در آن بمانيد; و چه بد است جايگاه متكبران
|

|
| 40:77 | So be patient, surely the promise of God is true. So should We make you see part of what We threaten them with, or should We cause you to die, to Us shall they be returned. |
پس (اى پيامبر) صبر كن كه وعده خدا حق است; و هرگاه قسمتى از مجازاتهايى را كه به آنها وعده دادهايم در حال حياتت به تو ارائه دهيم، يا تو را (پيش از آن) از دنيا ببريم (مهم نيست); چرا كه همه آنان را تنها بسوى مابازمىگردانند!

| 40:78 | We have indeed sent messengers before you - some of them we We have related to you their story and some we have not . No messenger can produce any miracle without God's authorization. But when God's Commandment comes , the matter will be decided with truth, and the followers of falsehood will then be losers. |
ما پيش از تو رسولانى فرستاديم; سرگذشت گروهى از آنان را براى تو بازگفته، و گروهى را براى تو بازگو نكردهايم; و هيچ پيامبرى حق نداشت معجزهاى جز بفرمان خدا بياورد و هنگامى كه فرمان خداوند (براى مجازات آنها) صادر شود، بحق داورى خواهد شد; و آنجا اهل باطل زيان خواهند كرد

| 40:79 | God is the One who created the livestock for you; some you ride, and some you eat. |
خداوند كسى است كه چهارپايان را براى شما آفريد تا بعضى را سوار شويد و از بعضى تغذيه كنيد
|

| 40:80 | They also provide you with additional benefits that satisfy many of your needs. On them, as well as on the ships, you are carried. |
و براى شما در آنها منافع بسيارى (جز اينها) است، تا بوسيله آنها به مقصدى كه در دل داريد برسيد; و بر آنها و بر كشتيها سوار مىشوید

| 40:81 | And He continues to show you His signs: then which of God's signs can you deny?
|
او آياتش را همواره به شما نشان مىدهد; پس كدام يك از آيات او را انكار مىكنيد؟
|

| 40:82 | Have they not travelled through the earth and seen what was the consequences for those who preceded them? They used to be greater in number, greater in power, and possessed a greater legacy on earth. Yet, all their achievements was of no profit to them. |
آيا روى زمين سير نكردند تا ببينند عاقبت كسانى كه پيش از آنها بودند چه شد؟! همانها كه نفراتشان از اينها بيشتر، و نيرو و آثارشان در زمين فزونتر بود; اما هرگز آنچه را به دست مىآوردند نتوانست آنها را بىنياز سازد

| 40:83 | When their messengers went to them with clear proofs, they rejoiced in the knowledge they had inherited, and the very things they ridiculed were the cause of their fall. |
هنگامى كه رسولانشان دلايل روشنى براى آنان آوردند، به دانشى كه خود داشتند خوشحال بودند (و غير آن را هيچ مىشمردند); ولى آنچه را (از عذاب) به تمسخر مىگرفتند آنان را فراگرفت

| 40:84 | But when they saw Our punishment, they said: We believe in God alone and we deny what we used to associate with Him. |
هنگامى كه عذاب (شديد) ما راديدند گفتند: هم اكنون به خداوند يگانه ايمان آورديم و به معبودهايى كه همتاى او مىشمرديم كافر شديم

| 40:85 | Their belief then could not help them in the least, once they saw our punishment. Such is God's system that has been established to deal with His creatures; the disbelievers are always doomed. |
اما هنگامى كه عذاب ما را مشاهده كردند، ايمانشان براى آنها سودى نداشت!اين سنت خداوند است كه همواره در ميان بندگانش اجرا شده، و آنجا كافران زيانكار شدند
