In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. |

.بنام ایزد بخشایشگر مهربان |
|
|
O! You who wraps himself, |
1 |
ای جامه به خويشتن فرو پيچيده |
*
|
|
Arise [to pray] the night, except for a little - |
2 |
شب را، جز کمی، بپاخیز |
|
|
Half of it - or subtract from it a little |
3 |
نيمى از شب يا اندكى از آن را بكاه |
|
|
Or add to it, and recite the Qur'an with measured recitation. |
4 |
یا بر آن [نصف] بيفزاى و قرآن را شمرده شمرده بخوان |
|
|
Indeed, We will cast upon you a heavy word. |
5 |
همانا ما به زودى بر تو گفتارى گرانبار القا مىكنيم |
|
|
Indeed, the hours of the night are more effective for concurrence [of heart and tongue] and more suitable for words. |
6 |
قطعا عبادت درشب گامی بلندتر و گفتاری پابرجاتر است |
|
|
Indeed, for you by day is prolonged occupation. |
7 |
درحالیکه همانا تو را در روز آمد و شد و تلاشى مستمر وطولانی است |
|
|
And remember the name of your Lord and devote yourself to Him with [complete] devotion. |
8 |
و نام پروردگارت را یاد کن و تنها به او دل ببند(بتول از هرچه بجز خدا میبرد)ا |
|
|
The Lord of the East and the West; there is no deity except Him, so take Him as Disposer of [your] affairs. |
9 |
پروردگار شرق و غرب که معبودی جز او نیست، پس او را نگاهبان و وکیل خود انتخاب کن |
|
|
And be patient over what they say and avoid them with gracious avoidance. |
10 |
و در برابر آنچه (دشمنان) می‌گویند شکیبا باش و بطرزی زیبا از آنان دوری گزین (درگیر مشو
)ا |

|
| And leave Me with [the matter of] the deniers, those of ease [in life], and allow them respite a little. |
11 |
و مرا با تکذیب‌کنندگان صاحب نعمت واگذار، و آنها را کمی مهلت ده |
|
|
Indeed, with Us [for them] are shackles and burning fire |
12 |
که نزد ما غل و زنجیرها(وابستگی) و (آتش) دوزخ است |
|
|
And food that chokes and a painful punishment - |
13 |
و غذایی گلوگیر(غصه)، و گرفتاریهای دردناک |
|
|
On the Day the earth and the mountains will convulse and the mountains will become a heap of sand pouring down. |
14 |
در آن روز که زمین و کوه‌ها شدیدا به لرزه درمی‌آید، و کوه‌ها به شکل توده‌هایی از شن نرم درمی‌آید |
|
|
| Indeed, We have sent to you a Messenger as a witness upon you just as We sent to Pharaoh a messenger. |
15 |
ا پیامبری به سوی شما فرستادیم که گواه بر شماست، همان گونه که به سوی فرعون رسولی فرستادیم |
|
|
But Pharaoh disobeyed the messenger, so We seized him with a ruinous seizure. |
16 |
فرعون نافرمانی آن رسول کرد پس ما او را سخت مجازات کردیم |
|
|
Then how can you fear, if you disbelieve, a Day that will make the children white- haired? |
17 |
چگونه پرهیزکار میشوید اگر کافر شوید روزیرا که کودکان را پیر می‌کند |

|
|
The heaven will break apart therefrom; ever is His promise fulfilled. |
18 |
ا(روزیکه)آسمان از هم شکافته می‌شود . وعده او شدنی است |
|
|
Indeed, this is a reminder, so whoever wills may take to his Lord a way. |
19 |
این هشدار است، پس هر کس بخواهد راهی به سوی پروردگارش برگیرد |
|
|
ndeed, your Lord knows, [O Muhammad], that you stand [in prayer] almost two thirds of the night or half of it or a third of it, and [so do] a group of those with you. And Allah determines [the extent of] the night and the day. He has known that you [Muslims] will not be able to do it and has turned to you in forgiveness, so recite what is easy [for you] of the Qur'an. He has known that there will be among you those who are ill and others traveling throughout the land seeking [something] of the bounty of Allah and others fighting for the cause of Allah . So recite what is easy from it and establish prayer and give zakah and loan Allah a goodly loan. And whatever good you put forward for yourselves - you will find it with Allah . It is better and greater in reward. And seek forgiveness of Allah . Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful. |

پروردگارت می‌داند که تو و گروهی از آنها که با تو هستند نزدیک دو سوم از شب یا نصف یا ثلث آن را به پا می‌خیزند؛ خداوند شب و روز را اندازه‌گیری می‌کند؛ او می‌داند که شما نمی‌توانید مقدار آن را (به دقّت) اندازه‌گیری کنید (برای عبادت کردن)، پس شما را بخشید؛ اکنون آنچه برای شما میسّر است قرآن بخوانید .او می‌داند گروهی از شما بیمار می‌شوند، و گروهی دیگر برای به دست آوردن فضل الهی و کسب روزی) به سفر می‌روند، و گروهی دیگر در راه خدا جهاد می‌کنند ، پس به اندازه‌ای که برای شما ممکن است از آن بخوانید و نماز را بر پا دارید و زکات بپردازید و به خدا قرض نیکو دهید و (بدانید) آنچه را از کارهای نیک برای خود از پیش می‌فرستید نزد خدا به بهترین وجه و بزرگترین پاداش خواهید یافت؛ و از خدا آمرزش بطلبید همانا خداوند بس آمرزنده و مهربان است |
