In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. |

.بنام ایزد بخشایشگر مهربان |

|
By the daybreak, |
1 |
سوگند به سپیده دم |
* |
|
and the ten nights, (*) |
2 |
و شبهای دهگانه |
|
|
and the even and the odd, |
3 |
و به افزایش و کاهش(جفت و تاق)ر( |
|
|
and the night when it departs. |
4 |
وبه شب ، آنگاه که (بسوی روشنایی روز) سپری میشود |
|
|
Is there (not) in these a profound oath, for one who possesses intelligence ? |
5 |
آیا در اینها سوگند ی بود براى خرد مند ؟ |
|
|
Have you noted what your Lord did to `Aad? |
6 |
آیا نديدى پروردگارت با قوم "عاد" چه كرد؟ |
|
|
Iram; the town with tall buildings. |
7 |
با شهر (پرعظمت) ستون دار ارم |
|
|
there was nothing like it anywhere, |
8 |
كه مانندش در سرزمینها آفريده نشده بود |
|
|
and Thamoud, who carved the rocks in their valley, |
9 |
و قوم ثمود که با شکافتن کوهها وادی خودرا میساختند |
|
|
| and Pharaoh who possessed might. |
10 |
و فرعون دارنده میخها(اهرام؟)ا |
|
|
They all transgressed in the land, |
11 |
آنها که در شهرها سرکشی کردند |
|
|
and brought about great corruption therein. |
12 |
و در آنها بسیار تبهکاری کردند |
|
|
Therefore your Lord let loose upon them a scourge of suffering. |
13 |
پس پروردگارت تازیانه عذاب را برآنها فرود آورد |
|
|
Surely your Lord is ever watchful. |
14 |
همانا پروردگارت سخت در کمین است |

|
|
But as for man, Whenever he is tested by his Lord, through blessings and joy, he says, 'My Lord has been [justly] generous towards me.' |
15 |
اما آدمی آنگاه كه پروردگارش او را براى آزمايش، اكرام كند و نعمت دهد گويد: پروردگارم مرا گرامى داشته است |
|
|
But whenever He tests him through reduction in provisions, he says, 'My Lord has disgraced me!' |
16 |
و هنگامى كه براى امتحان، روزيش را بر او تنگ گيرد گويد: پروردگارم مرا خوار و پست نموده |
|
|
Nay, It is you who aren't generous towards the orphan, |
17 |
چنین نیست بلکه یتیم را گرامی نمی دارید |
|
|
and do not urge one another to feed the needy, |
18 |
و يكديگر را بر اطعام بی نوایان تشويق نمىكنيد |
|
|
and devour the inheritance [of others] with devouring greed, |
19 |
و میراث (جامعه) را میخورید چه خوردنی |
|
|
and love wealth with boundless love! |
20 |
و مال و ثروت را دوست دارید دوست داشتن انبوهی |
|
|
Nay, when the earth is crushed with crushing upon crushing, |
21 |
نه چنین نیست ، آنگاه كه زمين سخت در هم كوبيده شود |
|
|
and [the majesty of] your Lord stands revealed, as well as [the true nature of] the angels; rank upon rank. |
22 |
و (شکوه) پروردگارت آشکار شود همراه با فرشتگان صف در صف |
|
|
On that day, Hell will be brought [within sight]; on that day, man will remember [all that he did and failed to do], but how will that remembrance avail him? |
23 |
و در آنروز دوزخ آورده شود ، در آنروز آدمی بیدار و متذکر شود ولی دیگرچه سودی دهد اورا این بیداری |

|
He will say, 'Oh, I wish I prepared for my (eternal) life.' |
24 |
گويد: اى كاش براى زندگيم (چيزى) از پيش فرستاده بودم |
|
|
On that day, no retribution could be worse than His', |
25 |
در آنروز ، هیچکسی چون او عذاب نکند |
|
|
and no confinement as effective as His'. |
26 |
و هيچ كس چون دربندكشيدن او دربند نكشد |
|
|
O! you man that has attained to inner peace! |
27 |
هان!تو ای نفس آرامش یافته |
|
|
Return to your Lord, well pleased , pleasing(to Him), |
28 |
به سوى پروردگارت بازگرد در حالى كه هم تو از او خشنودى و هم او از تو خشنود است |
|
|
enter, then, together with My [other true] servants . |
29 |
پس در ميان بندگان من درآى |
|
|
yes enter to My Paradise. |
30 |
و به بهشت من درآی |
|
