And your god is the One God; there is no god but He, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. |

و خداى شما، خداوند يگانهاى است، كه غير از او معبودى نيست! اوست بسیاربخشنده و مهربان |

Surely in the creation of the heavens and the earth, the succession of night and day, the ships that roam the ocean for the benefit of the people, the water that God sends down from the sky to revive dead land and to spread in it all kinds of creatures, the manipulation of the winds, and the clouds that are placed between the sky and the earth, [in all this] there are messages indeed for people who use their reason. |
164 |
در آفرينش آسمانها و زمين، و آمد و شد شبو روز، و كشتيهايى كه در دريا به سود مردم در حركتند، و آبى كه خداوند از آسمان نازل كرده، و با آن، زمين را پس از مرگ، زنده نموده، و انواع جنبندگان را در آن گسترده، و در تغيير مسير بادها و ابرهايى كه ميان زمين و آسمان مسخرند، البته نشانههايى است براى مردمى كه عقل دارند و مىانديشند |

Yet, some people set up idols to rival God, and love them as God's love . Those who believe, love God the most. If only the transgressors could see themselves when they see the retribution! They will realize then that all power belongs to God alone, and that God's retribution is awesome. |
165 |
و هنوزبرخى از مردم در برابر خدا همانندهايى [براى او] برمىگزينند و آنها را چون دوستى خدا دوست مىدارند . ولى كسانى كه ايمان دارند به خدا بیشترین محبت را دارند . ای کاش ستمکاران عذاب شدن خود را میدیدند ، [آنگاه در مییافتند که] همه قدرتها از آن خداست و اینکه خدا سخت كيفر است

|
When those who were followed will disown those who followed them , they see the retribution and all ties among them will be severed. |
166 |
آنگاه كه پيشوايان از پيروان بيزارى جويند و عذاب را مشاهده كنند و ميانشان پيوندها بريده شود . |
|
|
Those who followed will say, 'If we can get another chance, we will disown them, as they have disowned us now.' God thus shows them their works as nothing but remorse; they will never exit Hell. |
167 |
و پيروان مىگويند كاش براى ما بازگشتى بود تا همان گونه كه از ما بيزارى جستند از آنان بيزارى مىجستيم .اين گونه خداوند كارهايشان را كه مايه حسرت آنهاست به ايشان مىنماياند و از آتش بيرونآمدنى نيستند |

O people, eat from the earth's products all that is lawful and good, and do not follow Satan's footsteps; he is indeed your most ardent enemy. |
168 |
اى مردم از آنچه در زمين است حلال و پاكيزه را بخوريد و ازگامهاى شيطان پيروى مكنيد كه او دشمن آشكار شماست |

|
He only commands you to commit evil and vice, and to attribute to God what you have no knowledge of. |
169 |
همانا [او] شمارا فقط ببدى و زشتى فرمان میدهد و[شما را وامیدارد] تا به خدا چيزى را كه دانشی نداريد نسبت دهيد |

|
But when they are told, 'Follow what God has revealed herein,' they say, 'We follow only what we found our forefathers doing.' What if their forefathers did not use their reason , and were devoid of guidance? |
170 |
و چون به آنان گفته شود از آنچه خدا نازل كرده است پيروى كنيد مىگويند نه ما از چيزى كه پدران خود را بر آن يافتهايم پيروى مىكنيم . حتی اگر پدرانشان بیخردی كرده و به راه درست نروند؟ |

| And the parable of those who disbelieve is as the parable of one[shepherd] who calls out to that[beast] which hears no more than a call and a cry; they are deaf,dumb and blind, they do not use their reason. |
171 |
و مثل آنها که دركفراصرار دارند چون مثل كسى (چوپانی)است كه آن [رمه] را كه جز صدا و ندايى نمیشنود بانگ مىزند .آنها كر،لال وكورند و خرد خود را بکار نمیگیرند |

|
O you who believe, eat from the good things we provided for you, and be thankful to God, if it is Him alone that you worship. |
172 |
اى كسانیکه ايمان آوردهايد ازنعمتهاى پاكيزهاى كه روزى شما كردهايم بخوريد وخدا را شكركنيد اگرتنها اورا میپرستيد |

|
He only prohibits for you the eating of dead animals, blood, the flesh of pigs, and animals dedicated to other than God. If one is forced (to eat these), without being malicious or deliberate, he incurs no sin. God is much forgiving, Most Merciful. |
173 |
تنها مردار ، خون ، گوشتخوك و آنچه كه برای غير خدا قربانی شود بر شما حرام گرديده است .ولی اگركسى با ناچاری آنها را مصرف کند و از روی عناد نباشد بر او گناهى نيست . و خداوند بسیارآمرزنده و مهربان است |

Those who conceal God's revelations in the scripture, in exchange for a cheap material gain, eat but fire into their bellies. God will not speak to them on the Day of Resurrection, nor will He purify them. They have incurred a painful retribution. |
174 |
كسانى كه آنچه را خداوند از كتاب نازل كرده پنهان مىدارند و بدان بهاى ناچيزى به دست مىآورند .آنان جز آتش در شكمهاى خويش فرو نبرند و خدا روز قيامت با ايشان سخن نخواهد گفت و پاكشان نخواهد كرد و عذابى دردناك خواهند داشت |

It is they who chose the straying instead of guidance, and Torment instead of Forgiveness. Consequently, they will have to endure Hell. |
175 |
آنان همان كسانى هستند كه گمراهى را به [بهاى] هدايت و عذاب را به [ازاى] آمرزش خريدند پس به راستى چه اندازه بايد بر آتش شكيبا باشند |

This is because God reveals the scripture, bearing the truth, and those who dispute the scripture are the most ardent opponents. |
176 |
چرا كه خداوند كتاب را به حق نازل كرده است و كسانى كه در باره كتاب با يكديگر به اختلاف بپردازند در ستيزهاى دور و درازند |

Righteousness is not turning your faces towards the east or the west. Righteous is he who believes in God, the Last Day, the angels, the scripture, and the prophets; and he who give his money, though loving it, to the relatives, the orphans, the needy, the traveling alien, the beggars, and to free a human being from bondage; he is constant in Prayers and gives the purifying dues (Zakat); he keeps his word whenever he makes a promise; and steadfastly perseveres in the face of persecution, hardship, and war. These are the truthful; the Allah-fearing(conscious of God). |
177 |
نيكوكارى آن نيست كه روى خود را به سوى شرق وغرب بگردانيد بلكه نيكى آنست كه كسى به خدا و روز بازپسين و فرشتگان و كتاب [آسمانى] و پيامبران ايمان آورد و مال [خود] را با وجود دوست داشتنش به خويشاوندان و يتيمان و بينوايان و در راهماندگان و گدايان و در [راه آزاد كردن] بندگان صرف کند و نماز را برپاى دارد و زكات بدهد و آنان كه چون عهد بندند به عهد خود وفادارند و در سختى و زيان و به هنگام جنگ شكيبايند ،آنانند كسانى كه راست گفتهاند و آنان همان پرهيزگارانند |

O you who believe, "just retribution" is ordained for you in cases of killing - the free for the free, the slave for the slave, the female for the female. (*) If something is remitted to a guilty person by his brother, an appreciative response is in order, and an equitable compensation shall be paid. This is an alleviation from your Lord and mercy. Anyone who transgresses beyond this incurs a painful retribution. |
178 |
اى كسانى كه ايمان آوردهايد در باره كشتن بر شما قصاص مقرر شده - آزاد به آزاد ، بنده به بنده و زن به زن .و هر كس كه از جانب برادر [دينى]اش چيزى [از حق قصاص] به او گذشتشود [بايد از آن گذشت] به طور پسنديده پيروى كند و با[رعايت]احسان جبران نماید . اين [حكم] ، تخفيف و رحمتى است از پروردگارتان پس هر كس بعد از این تخطی کند وى را عذابى دردناك است |

"Just retribution" is a life saving law for you, O you who possess intelligence, that you may remain conscious of God). |
179 |
و اى اهل فراست شما را در "قصاص" زندگانى است باشد كه به تقوا گراييد |
|
|
It is decreed that when death approaches,and you are leaving much wealth, you shall write a will for the benefit of the parents and relatives, equitably. This is binding on all who are conscious of God. |
180 |
بر شما مقرر شده كه چون يكى از شما را مرگ فرا رسد اگر مال[فراوانى] بر جاى گذارد براى پدر و مادر و خويشاوندان به طور پسنديده وصيت كند [اين كار] حقى است بر پرهيزگاران |

|
If anyone alters a will he had heard, the sin of altering befalls those responsible for such altering. God is indeed all-hearing, all-knowing. |
181 |
پس هر كس آن [وصيت] را بعد از شنيدنش تغيير دهد گناهش تنها بر [گردن] كسانى است كه آن را تغيير مىدهند آرى خدا شنواى داناست |

| If ,however,one has reason to fear that the testator has committed a mistake or a [deliberate] wrong, and brings about a settlement between the heirs, he will incur no sin . Surely, God is much-forgiving, Most Merciful. |
182 |
ولى كسى كه ازانحراف وصيتكنندهاى[نسبت به ورثهاش] يا از گناه او [در وصيت به كار خلاف] بيم داشته باشد و ميانشان را سازش دهد بر او گناهى نيست كه همانا خداوند بسیارآمرزنده مهربان است |

|
O you who believe, fasting is decreed for you, as it was decreed for those before you, that you might remain conscious of God. |
183 |
اى كسانى كه ايمان آورده ايد روزه بر شما مقرر شده همان گونه كه بر كسان پيش از شما مقرر شده بود . باشد كه پرهيزگارشويد |
