| These are messengers; we blessed some of them more than others: among them were such as.were spoken to by God [Himself](i.e. Moses),some He has raised yet higher(i.e. Muhammad), and we gave Jesus, son of Mary, all evidence of the truth, and strengthened him with Holy Spirit. Had God willed, their followers would not have fought with each other, after the clear proofs had come to them. Instead, they disputed among themselves; some of them believed, and some disbelieved. Had God willed, they would not have fought. Everything is in accordance with God's will. |

برخى از پيامبران را بر برخى ديگر برترى بخشيديم :از آنان كسى بود كه خدا با او سخن گفت[موسی] و درجات دیگری را بالا تربردیم [محمد] و به عيسى پسر مريم دلايل آشكار داديم و او را به وسيله روح القدس تاييد كرديم . اگر خدا مىخواست كسانى كه پس از آنان آمدند با آن [همه] دلايل روشن كه برايشان آمد به كشتار يكديگر نمىپرداختند ولى با هم اختلاف كردند پس بعضى از آنان ايمان آوردند و بعضى كفر ورزيدند و اگر خدا مىخواست با يكديگر جنگ نمىكردند . ولیکن همه چیز با خواست خدا انجام میگیرد |

O you who believe, spend [in Our way] from the provisions we have given to you, before a day comes where there is no bargaining, no friendship and no intercession.And disbelievers are the evildoer. |
254 |
اى كسانى كه ايمان آوردهايد از آنچه به شما روزى دادهايم انفاق كنيد پيش از آنكه روزى فرا رسد كه در آن نه داد و ستدى است و نه دوستى و نه شفاعتى و كافران هم آنها ستمكارانند |

God: there is no other god besides Him, the Ever-Living, the Self-Subsistent Fount of All Being. Neither slumber overtakes Him, nor sleep. To Him belongs everything in the heavens and everything on earth. Who could intercede with Him, except in accordance with His will? He knows all that lies open before men and all that is hidden from them. (*) No one attains any knowledge, except as He wills. His dominion encompasses the heavens and the earth, and ruling them never burdens Him. He is the Most High, the Great. |
255 |
خدا، كه معبودى جز او نيست زنده و برپادارنده است ، نه خوابى سبك او را فرو مىگيرد و نه خوابى گران ،آنچه در آسمانها و زمين است از آن اوست. كيست كه جز به اذن او در پيشگاهش شفاعت كند ؟ ازآنچه در دسترس [ذهن] آنان و آنچه ناپیدا از دیدشان است آگاهی دارد . به چيزى از علم او جز به آنچه بخواهد احاطه نمىيابند . كرسى قدرت او آسمانها و زمين را در بر گرفته و نگهدارى آنها بر او دشوار نيست . اوست بلند مرتبه بزرگ |

There shall be no coercion in matters of faith : the right way is now distinct from the wrong way. Anyone who rejects the powers of evil and believes in God has grasped the strongest bond; one that never breaks. God is all-hearing, all-knowing. |
256 |
در دين هيچ اجبارى نيست و راه از بيراهه بخوبى آشكار شده است پس هر كس به طاغوت كفر ورزد و به خدا ايمان آورد به يقين به دستاويزى استوار كه گسستنی نيست چنگ زده است و خداوند بسیارشنواى داناست |

God is the Protecting Guardian of those who believe; He leads them out of darkness into the light. As for those who disbelieve, their guardians are the powers of evil ; that lead them out of the light into darkness - these will be the dwellers of Hell; they abide in it forever. |
257 |
خداوند ولی وسرور كسانى است كه ايمان آورند آنان را از تاريكيها به سوى روشنايى به در مىبرد . كسانى كه كفر ورزند اولیا وسرورانشان طاغوت است كه آنان را از روشنايى به سوى تاريكيها به در مىبرد ، آنان اهل آتشند كه در آن جاودانند |

Have you noted the one[King Namrude] who argued with Abraham about his Lord, though God had given him kingship? Abraham said, 'My Lord grants life and death.' He said, 'I grant life and death.' Abraham said, 'God brings the sun from the east, can you bring it from the west?' He who was insistant on denying the truth remained dumbfounded: for God does not guide people who [deliberately] do wrong. |

آيا نديدى آن كس [سلطان نمرود] كه با ابراهيم در باره پروردگارش محاجه و مجادله میكرد؟ زيرا خداوند به او پادشاهی داده بود; هنگامى كه ابراهيم گفت: "پروردگار من كسى است كه زنده مىكند و مىميراند." او گفت: من نيز زنده مىكنم و مىميرانم ! ابراهيم گفت: خداوند خورشيد را از مشرق بیرون میآورد تو ازمغرب بياور! آن مرد كافر، مبهوت و وامانده شد. و خداوند، قوم ستمگر را هدايت نمىكند |

Or [are you, O man, of the same mind] as he who passed by a town deserted by its people, with its roofs caved in. He said, "How could God bring all this back to life after its death?" Thereupon God caused him to be dead for a hundred years; whereafter He brought him back to life [and] said: "How long have you remained thus?"
He answered: "I have remained thus a day, or part of a day." [God] said, 'Nay! You have been here a hundred years. Yet, look at your food and drink; untouched by the passing of years . And look at your donkey. Note how we construct the bones, then cover them with flesh. And when [all this] became clear to him, he said: "I know [now] that God has the power to will anything!" |

يا چون آن كسیكه از كنار دهی [ويران] عبور میكرد، در حالى كه سقف همه خانه ها فرو ريخته بود. گفت چگونه خدا اينها را پس از مرگ، زنده مىكند؟ پس خدا او را يكصد سال ميراند; سپس زنده كرد و به او گفت: چهقدر درنگ کردی؟ گفت یک روز یا بخشی از آن . فرمود نه بلکه یکصد سال ! نگاه کن به غذا و نوشیدنیت که هيچگونه تغييری نيافته است!ولى به الاغ خود نگاه كن [كه چگونه از هم متلاشى شده!] براى اينكه تو را نشانهاى براى مردم قرار دهيم به استخوانها[ى الاغ خود نگاه كن كه چگونه آنها را]به هم پيوند مىدهيم، و گوشت بر آن مىپوشانيم! هنگامى كه [اين حقايق] بر او آشكار شد، گفت: مىدانم خدا بر هر كارى توانا است |

And when Abraham said, 'My Lord, show me how You revive the dead.' He said, 'Do you not believe?' He said, 'Yes, but I wish to reassure my heart.' He said, 'Take four birds and teach them to obey you, then place each bird on top of a hill [around you], then call them . They will come to you in a hurry. And know that God is Almighty, Most Wise.' |

و هنگامى كه ابراهيم گفت: خدايا! به من نشان بده چگونه مردگان را زنده مىكنى؟ فرمود: مگر ايمان ندارى؟! عرض كرد: چرا ولى مىخواهم قلبم آرامش يابد. فرمود: چهار مرغ انتخاب و آنها را دست آموز کن تا بسوی تو بازگردند سپس بر هر كوهى، یکی از آنها را قرار بده و آنها را بخوان، به سرعت به سوى تو خواهند آمد! پس بدان که خداوند بسیار توانا و حكيم است |

The example of those who spend their wealth in the cause of God is that of a grain that produces seven spikes, with a hundred grains in each spike. God multiplies this manifold for whomever He wills. God is ]Infinite, All-Knowing. |
261 |
مثل کسى كه اموال خود را در راه خدا انفاق مىكنند، همانند بذرى است كه هفت خوشه بروياند; كه در هر خوشه، يكصد دانه باشد; و خداوند آن را براى هر كس بخواهد، دو يا چند برابر مىكند; و خدا واسع و داناست |

|
Those who spend their wealth in the cause of God, then do not follow their charity with reproach or hurting [the feelings of the needy] , will receive their rewards from their Lord; they have nothing to fear, nor will they grieve. |
262 |
كسانى كه اموال خود را در راه خدا انفاق كنند بدون منت و آزارى ، پاداش آنها نزد پروردگارشان است; نه ترسى و نه اندوهی |

| Kind words and compassion is better than a charity that is followed by insult. God is Rich, Clement. |
263 |
گفتار پسنديده و طلب آمرزش ، از بخششى كه آزارى به دنبال آن باشد، بهتر است; و خداوند، بىنياز و بردبار است. |
|
|
O you who believe, do not nullify your charities by inflicting reproach and insult, like one who spends his money to show off, while disbelieving in God and the Last Day. His example is like a rock covered with a thin layer of soil; as soon as heavy rain falls, it washes off the soil, leaving it a useless rock. They gain nothing from their efforts. God does not guide those who deny the truth. |
264 |
اى كسانى كه ايمان آوردهايد! بخششهاى خود را با منت و آزار، باطل نسازيد! همانند كسى كه مالش را براى خودنمایی، انفاق مىكند; و به خدا و روز رستاخيز، ايمان ندارد; [كار او] همچون قطعه سنگى است كه بر آن، [قشر نازكى از] خاك باشد; و رگبار باران به آن برسد و آن را تمام ببرد. آنها از كارى كه انجام دادهاند، چيزى به دست نمىآورند; و خداوند، كافران را هدايت نمىكند |

The example of those who give their money seeking God's pleasure, out of sincere conviction, is that of a garden on high fertile soil; when heavy rain falls, it gives twice as much crop. If heavy rain is not available, a drizzle will suffice. God is Seer of everything you do. |
265 |
و [کار]كسانى كه اموال خود را براى خشنودى خدا، و تثبيت روح خود، انفاق مىكنند، همچون باغى است كه در نقطه بلندى باشد، اگر بارانهاى درشت به آن برسد، ميوه خود را دو چندان دهد . و اگر باران فراوانی نبارد بارانی کم کافی است .و خداوند به آنچه انجام مىدهيد، بيناست. |

Would any of you wish to own a garden of palm trees and grapes, with flowing streams and generous crops, then, just as he grows old, and while his children are still dependent on him, a fiery whirlwind burns up his garden? God thus clarifies the revelations for you, that you may reflect. |
266 |
آيا كسى از شما دوست دارد كه باغى از درختان خرما و انگور داشته باشد كه از زير درختان آن، نهرها بگذرد، و براى او در آن ، از هر گونه ميوهاى وجود داشته باشد، ودر حالى كه به سن پيرى رسيده و فرزندانى [كوچك] دارد; گردبادى از آتش به آن برخورد كند وهمه را بسوزاند؟! اين چنين خداوند آيات خود را براى شما آشكار مىسازد; شايد بينديشيد |

|
O you who believe, you shall give to charity from the good things you earn, and from what we have produced for you from the earth. Do not pick out the bad therein to give away, when you yourselves do not accept it without connivance. You should know that God is Rich, Praiseworthy. |
267 |
اى كسانى كه ايمان آوردهايد! از قسمتهاى پاكيزه اموالى كه به دست آوردهايد، و از آنچه از زمين براى شما خارج ساختهايم انفاق كنيد! و براى انفاق، به سراغ چیزهای ناچیز نرويد كه خود حاضر نيستيد آنها را بپذيريد; مگر از روى اغماض و كراهت! و بدانيد که خداوند، بىنياز و شايسته ستايش است |
