| 40:2 | This revelation of the scripture is from God, the Almighty, the Omniscient. |
فرو فرستادن این کتلب(قرآن) از سوی خدااست ، دانای بزرگوار |

| 40:3 | The Forgiver of sins and the Acceptor of repentance,the Severe in punishment,the Bestower (of favours).There is no god beside Him. To Him is the ultimate destiny. |
آمرزنده گناه و پذیرنده توبه ، سخت کیفر دهنده و منعم . خدایی جز او نیست و سرانجام (امور) بسوی اوست |

| 40:4 | None argues against the Signs of God but the disbelievers. therefore, do not be deceived by their apparent success in the society. |
کسی با آیات خدا مجادله نمیکند جز آنها که کافر شدند . بنابراین گول موفقیت اجتماعی آنها را مخور |

| 40:5 | Rejecting (prophets)before them were the people of Noah, and many other groups after them. Every nation plotted against their Messenger to seize him, and argued by falsehood to refute the truth. So I seized them (with punishment), and how was My punishment! |
پیش از آنها قوم نوح و گروههای بعد از او تکذیب کردند . هر امتی به رسولش قصد سوء کرد و با حربه باطل مجادله نمود تا حق را زایل کند . من آنها را گرفتم و چه وحشتناک بود کیفر من |

| 40:6 | Thus was the Decree of your Lord proved true against the disbelievers; that indeed they are Companions of the Fire! |
همچنین کلام پروردگارت درست است در باره کافران ، همانا آنها اهل آتشند |

| 40:7 | Those who bear the Throne and those around it glorify the praise of their Lord, and believe in Him, and ask forgiveness for those who believe (saying): "Our Lord, Your mercy and Your knowledge encompass all things. Forgive those who repent and follow Your path, and save them from the torment of the blazing Fire! |
آنانکه حاملان عرشند و آنانکه در پیرامون آن هستند پروردگارشان را حمد و تسبیح میگویند و بدو ایمان دارند، و طلب مغفرت میکنند برای آنها که ایمان آورده اند : پروردگارا رحمت و عبم تو همه چیز را فرا گرفته پس کسانیرا که توبه کردند و راه تورا پیروی نمودند از عذاب جهنم حفظ فرما |

| 40:8 | 'Our Lord, and admit them into the gardens of Eden that You promised for them and for the righteous among their parents, spouses, and children. You are the Almighty, Most Wise. |
پروردگارا ، و آنها را به باغهای عدن که وعده داده ای داخل نما و نیز پدر و مادر ، همسر و فرزندان نیکوکار آنها ، همانا که تو بزرگوار و فرزانه ای |

| 40:9 | 'And protect them from sins. Whomever You protect from sins, on that day, has attained mercy from You. This is the great triumph.' |
و آنها را از (کیفر)بدیها حفظ فرما که هرکه را تو محافظت فرمایی در این روز(قیامت)بر او رحمت آورده ای که این بزرگترین پیروزی است |

| 40:10 | Those who disbelieve will be told, 'God's abhorrence (hatred) towards you is even worse than your own abhorrence towards yourselves. For you were invited to believe, but you chose to disbelieve.' |
آنها که کافر شدند ندا میشوند : خشم خدا از خشم شما بر خودتان بزرگتر است ، آنگاه که هرچه بسوی ایمان دعوت میشدید کفر میورزیدید |

| 40:11 | They will say, 'Our Lord, you have put us to death twice, and You gave us life twice ; now we have confessed our sins. Is there any way out?' |
کافران گویند : پروردگارا تو مارا دوبار میراندی و دو نوبت زنده کردی ، به گناهان خود اعتراف میکنیم ، آیا اینک راهی برای خروج هست ؟ |

| 40:12 | This is because when God ALONE was invoked, you disbelieved, but when others were mentioned beside Him, you believed. Therefore, God's judgment has been issued; He is the Most High, the Great. |
این از آنرو است که چون خدا به تنهایی خوانده میشد کفر میورزیدید و آنگاه که با وی شریکی ذکر میشد ایمان میآوردید ، پس حکم تنها از آن خدای بلندپایه بزرگ است |

| 40:13 | He is the One who continuously shows you His proofs, and sends down to you from the sky provisions. Only those who turn in repentance will receive admonition. |
او کسی است که آیات خود را همواره بشما نشان میدهد و برای شما از آسمان روزی میفرستد اما جز کسانیکه بخدا رجوع پی درپی دارند کسی متذکر نمیشود |

| 40:14 | Therefore, call upon God with sincere devotion to Him, even if the disbelievers dislike it. |
پس خدا را بخوانید در حالیکه دین را خالص برای او میدانید هرچند که کافران را خوش نیاید |

| 40:15 | Possessor of the highest ranks, the Owner of the Throne. He sends inspiration by His commands to any of His servants He wiils, to warn about the Day of Meeting (i.e. The Day of Resurrection). |
او که دارای درجاتی بلند و صاحب عرش است ، روح شامل دستورات خودرا بهرکس از بندگانش که بخواهد القا میکند تا در باره روز "دیدار" هشدار دهد |

| 40:16 | That is the day when everyone will be completely exposed; none of them will hide anything from God. To whom belongs all sovereignty on that day, the One, the Subduer . |
روزیکه همه از پرده برونند و هیچ چیزشان از خداوند مخفی نیست ، در آنروز ملک و سلطنت از آن کیست ؟ از آن خدای یگانه قهار |

| 40:17 | On that day, every soul will be rewarded for whatever it had earned. There will be no injustice on that day. God is swift at reckoning. |
امروز هرکسی بدانچه کرده است جزا داده میشود ، بدون هیچ ظلم و ستمی ، همانا خدا سریع الحساب است |

| 40:18 | Warn them about the Day that is drawing near , when the hearts will be choking the throats. there will be no friend for the wrong-doers, nor any intercessor to be obeyed. |
به آنها هشدار بده از روزی نزدیک که دلها از شدت ترس به گلوگاه میرسد با اندوهی سهمگین ، روزیکه برای ستمکاران دوست و شفاعت کننده ای که شفاعتش پذیرفته شود نیست |

| 40:19 | He knows the traitor of the eyes, and all that the minds conceal. |
آگاه است از چشمهای خائن واز آنچه در سینه ها پنهان است |

|
| 40:20 | God judges equitably, while the idols they implore beside Him cannot judge anything. Surely, God is the All-Hearer, the All-Seer. |
خدا بحق داوری میکند و بتهایی را که میخوانید هیچگونه داوری ندارند . همانا خدا است که شنوا و بینااست |

|
| 40:21 | Have they not travelled in the land to see. They were stronger than they, and more productive on earth. But God punished them for their sins, and nothing could protect them from God. |
آیا در زمین گردش نمیکنند تا سرانجام پیشینیان خود را ببینند؟ آنان از اینان نیرومندتر بودند دارای آثار فراوان روی زمین ،با اینهمه خداوند آنان را به کیفر گناهانشان بگرفت و هیچ حافظی از خدا نداشتند |

| 40:22 | That is because their messengers went to them with clear proofs, but they disbelieved. So God seized them (with punishment). Surely, He is All-Strong, Severe in punishment. |
این بدان جهت است که رسولانشان با آیاتی روشن آمدند ولی کافر شدند . ندا هم آنها را بگرفت که وی قوی و سختگیر در کیفر دادن است |

| 40:23 | And certainly We sent Moses with Our clear signs and manifest authority, |
همانا ما موسی را با نشانه ها و اقتداری آشگار فرستادیم |

|
| 40:24 | To Pharaoh, Haamaan, and Qaaroon. But they said (he was) a lying magician. |
بسوی فرعون ، هامان و قارون . آنها گفتند وی ساحری دروغگو است |
*
|
| 40:25 | And when he showed them the truth from us, they said, 'Kill the sons of those who believed with him, and spare their daughters.' Thus, the scheming of the disbelievers is always wicked. |
و چون حق را از سوی ما آورد گفتند فرزندان هرکس که با او ایمان آورده است بکشید و زنانشان را زنده نگهدارید و حیله کافران جز گمراهی نیست |

| 40:26 | Pharaoh said, 'Let me kill Moses, and let him implore his Lord. I worry lest he corrupts your religion, or spreads evil throughout the land.' |
فرعون گفت : بگذارید موسی را یکشم و او پروردگارش را بخواند . میترسم که دینتان را دگرگون نماید و یا در زمین فساد کند |

| 40:27 | Moses said, 'I seek refuge in my Lord and your Lord, from every arrogant one who does not believe in the Day of Reckoning.' |
موسی گفت : پناه میبرم به پروردگار خود و پروردگار شما از هر متکبری که به روز حساب ایمان ندارد |

|
| 40:28 | A believing man among Pharaoh's people, who was concealing his belief, said, 'How can you kill a man just for saying, `My Lord is God,' and he has shown you clear proofs from your Lord? If he is a liar, on him will be his lie. If he is truthful, then some of that (calamity) he warns you will befall on you. Surely, God does not guide any extravagant, liar. |
مرد مؤمنی از آل فرعون که ایمان خود را پنهان میداشت گفت : مردی را میکشید که میگوید پروردگارم الله است؟ با اینکه ازناحیه پروردگارتان آیاتی روشن آورده . اگر دروغگو باشد به زیان خودش است ولی اگر راست بگوید حداقل برخی از وعده هایش بشما میرسد . همانا خداوند کسی را که مسرف و دروغگو باشد هدایت نمیکند |
